What a fantastic brush this is. The photographs and description do not do it justice. Just the right amount of backbone and splay, make lathering up a delight. The shape ( Beehive ) ensures handling it with wet and slippery hands is a doddle, no problem at all. All in all a very well thought out brush with super quality Silver-tip badger hair bristles which are as soft as anything I have used before ... Anyone want to buy my Simpsons Chubby 2 ???
Hi,
I just love this brush, the beehive handle is what makes this one superior above all others, the grip with wet or soapy hands is not a problem. Then you encounter the very fine badger bristles, I have other Shavemac brushes but pound for pound this is an opportunity to own an exclusive brush at a great price. Speak to Ian and you can't go wrong. This is probably one of those best kept secretes, but now you know !!
Best Wishes ... Jim.
I received this brush from GGR about three months ago. Although it seemed a little stiff for badger when I opened it, it softened up nicely after soaking it prior to shaving. At this point, I would call it soft, but with some backbone due to the short length of the bristles. It is a compact little brush, which makes it ideal for lathering from smaller pucks or tins (think Klar, Hasslinger, or Col. Conk). It does hold enough lather to complete the usual three passes and touch-ups. Overall, I have really become a fan of this little "honey." It is a keeper, for sure.
